This conceptual design study reimagines the future of a Yemeni coffee house—building upon the client’s existing brand while elevating the spatial experience to match the quality of their product. Known for their exceptional, artisan coffee, the goal was to create an environment that feels equally considered: grounded, welcoming, and quietly distinctive.
The design draws from traditional architectural language—arched forms, layered screens, and rhythmic repetition—reframed through a more contemporary lens. Rather than leaning literal, these references are abstracted and integrated into the architecture, creating a sense of familiarity without overt theming.
Materiality plays a central role. A palette of green tile, warm wood, and terracotta tones establishes depth and warmth, while integrated planting softens the geometry and brings a sense of life to the space. The result is an interior that feels structured yet relaxed—supporting both quick visits and extended gathering.
At its core, the project explores how a strong product can be supported by an equally intentional environment—one that invites people in, encourages them to stay, and reflects the care behind every cup.
