Meet the Team

Rebecca Compton-Allen is the operational backbone of Vela — and her background is anything but ordinary. Before joining the studio, she managed complex, high-stakes logistics at scale - coordinating national tours for hundreds of performers and staff, building policy and process infrastructure from the ground up, and earning an Executive Director’s Outstanding Achievement Award along the way.

Today, Rebecca serves as Vela's Director of Operations while concurrently holding an operations leadership role at a Twin Cities construction firm. That dual perspective gives her a nuanced understanding of how design studios, contractors, vendors, and clients must communicate and coordinate to execute complex projects well.

At Vela, Rebecca oversees the operational systems behind the studio - including project coordination, procurement workflows, scheduling, financial management, and client communications. She is exceptionally detail-oriented, proactive, and steady under pressure, bringing both precision and warmth to every phase of the client experience.
